This project was part of a printmaking enrichment class for  3rd-5th grade students.  The focus of the projects for the class were designed to build observation skills and to explore visual elements of  symmetry, shape, pattern. In this project students learned about a variety of forms of symmetry: lateral, spiral, nesting, branching and then discovered these forms in natural objects through printmaking–using fruits, vegetables and even an octopus to print in symmetry journals.
