In this project students were asked to explore alter egos in pop culture, film and literature: secret identities, evil twins, superheros, archetypes, doppelgangers ect.. As a class we looked at some examples and brainstormed others from Hannah Montana to Superman.  Students were then asked to think about the indicators of identity, how do we project our identity through dress, personal presentation and behavior– asking how would an alter ego contradict that projected identity?

These questions led to students creating paper dolls to express an alter ego or set of alternate identities.
