As an introduction to Art Interventions, my sophomore students looked at the work of “shopdropper” artists like  Packard Jennings and Ryan Watkins Hughes as well as images of anonymous shopdropping interventions.  As a class we explored the purpose of these interventions, the motives of the artists and the use of humor, propaganda and political voice in these works.  Students learned basic mold-making and casting techniques to create their own “products” to replace into found packaging that sent their unique message to shoppers.
